Director Linda Goldstein Knowlton emphasizes teaching age-appropriate social justice activism, or "radical joy," to instill hope in children.

As an intern for POV, I assisted in interviewing Knowlton, finding the best quotes to use, and editing the video.

This video is part of my semester-long senior capstone project about coronavirus racism. Since social distancing measures unfortunately prevented photography and video shoots, I used this project as an opportunity to combine my amateur art skills with my formal education in journalism. In just two weeks, I taught myself to create simple video animations to tell a story. Click here to explore the full project.
